Easing Caregivers’ Burdens
Counseling Toolkit for August 2024

With medical advances, more people are living longer but sometimes with illnesses. A number of degenerative conditions are associated with aging, such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, and Parkinson’s. There are also a growing number of people with chronic conditions, such as fibromyalgia, ulcerative colitis, celiac, or Crohn’s.
Chronic illnesses are certainly difficult for the one getting diagnosed but are also a long-term challenge for their loved ones who need to provide more and more care. How does God approach and care for the caregiver? What are practical, emotional, spiritual, and relational needs they face? This month’s Toolkit provides guidance for how we can serve those who provide long-term assistance for loved ones.
