Kate holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Denver Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Eastern University. She specializes in the areas of substance abuse and addictions, including behavioral addictions, anxiety, depression, dysfunctional family issues, grief, PTSD, adolescent issues and young adult (single or married) issues. Kate has additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prepare/Enrich premarital counseling, and also is a spiritual director from The Vincentian Center for Spirituality and Work in Denver, Colorado. She is also a trained facilitator for “Walking the Mourner’s Path," a grief recovery program.

As an adjunct professor for Eastern University in Philadelphia, Kate taught the addictions course for their doctoral program in Marriage and Family Therapy. When not rooting for the Denver Broncos football team, Kate and her husband Mike, enjoy walking their dog, hiking, backpacking and traveling extensively.
