Breaking Destructive Communication Cycles in Marriage
Counseling Toolkit for November 2020
Communication in marriage can always be tricky. For issues great and small, it’s important that a husband and wife understand each other well in order to love each other well. This may seem simple enough, but as most of us know, it’s common for communication to become difficult, painful, and eventually become a destructive cycle. Breaking these cycles is also not simple, but we can help couples move in that direction by exploring typical responses and why they happen. Furthermore, as a couple’s understanding of their communication struggles deepen, they can also grow in their understanding of how God is using their marriage to deepen communication with him. In this month’s toolkit, we will provide effective ways to assist couples in understanding themselves and each other as they draw nearer to Jesus.
