Series Description

We’re excited to offer a new, more focused way to engage Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. This series includes three distinct 10-week groups, each centered on strengthening a core area of DBT. Whether you’re looking to better understand your emotions, navigate relationships more effectively, or cope with overwhelming moments, these groups are designed to help you build practical, sustainable skills. Facilitated by Christine Chu, LCSW.

Emotion Regulation

Tuesdays @ 7:30pm | June 2 – August 4, 2026
Learn how to better understand your emotional patterns, reduce vulnerability to intense emotions, and respond with greater clarity and intention.

Series Breakdown

Interpersonal Effectiveness

Tuesdays @ 7:30pm | September 15 – November 17, 2026


Develop skills to communicate your needs, set boundaries, and engage in relationships with confidence and respect.

Distress Tolerance

Tuesdays @ 7:30pm | February 2 – April 6, 2027


Strengthen your ability to navigate distressing moments without becoming overwhelmed or reactive.

How the Series Works

  • Each group runs for 10 sessions and focuses on one specific DBT skill set

  • Groups are held remotely for accessibility and ease

  • Participants may enroll in one, two, or all three groups

Participants who complete a group will receive priority access to future groups in the series

 Who This Is For

This series is designed for individuals who:

  • Are currently engaged in individual counseling (required for participation)

  • Want to deepen and apply DBT skills in a focused, supportive environment

  • Are seeking practical tools for navigating emotions, stress, and relationships

Cost & Commitment

  • $50 per session

  • Enrollment reserves your place in the full 10-week group

As part of the group structure, participants are responsible for the full cost of all sessions, regardless of attendance

Once you’ve completed the  interest form. Our facilitator, Christine, will reach out to schedule a 50 minute group intake session (fee: $70). Thisis required for all participants prior to enrollment to ensure that the group is a good fit for you.

Meet Group Facilitator Christine Chu
Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Christine has worked with presenting concerns including: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief, relationship issues, and trauma. She has completed Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Intensive Team training in 2012, and has worked with individuals using DBT skills training in individual and group therapy.

Christine holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University and a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. Christine has been practicing since 1997 in various settings, including community mental health agencies, addressing concerns with individuals and families.

Christine and her husband, Grant, attend a community church in Brooklyn. They enjoy hobbies, fishing, and spending time with their family and friends.

Licensed in NY & NJ.
Completed Dialectical Behavioral Therapy intensive training in 2012.
Completed Certificate of Foundations of Biblical Counseling at CCEF in 2014.
